Not much I can say today - it was just really upsetting seeing Paul
cycle off on his own this morning and wishing / wanting to be with
him. After a really emotional morning sitting in the car I was determined
to join Paul for the afternoons ride. As I sat on my bike and pushed
off I finally, finally realised that I was not going any further as
I couldn't even support my weight standing on the pedals let alone
push any power through my knees. Paul has done a great job today cycling
over 100 miles on his own. He has 40 miles left tomorrow so we will
have a few beers tonight to give him the strength to tow me over the
finish line. Thanks to everyone who has sent messages of well wishes
and support today and just to confirm to all who were worried that
I may be getting back on my bike sadly I can confirm It ain't gonna
happen.

What a day, it was difficult leaving my partner this morning and setting
off for a lonely 100miles but he kept me in good spirits with the
odd text on the way and words of encouragement at lunch.
It was very windy today, I could have been windy all week for all
I know as I have spent most of the ride behind Neil's arse as he broke
through the wind in front of me (not breaking wind in front).
Got 40 miles to do tomorrow and I'm determined to get Lou (Neil) on
a bike even if it is for the last few yards. We started together and
we can finish together. Thanks again to everyone who has supported
this ride and thanks for all the texts, emails and general abuse.
If I don't do a Reggie Perin in John O'Groats I'll see you all in
Blighty sometime soon...
