Neil's Blog
After a great night's sleep in a century old farm house and being
spoilt rotten by the farmers wife, we set off for Loch Lomond. Started
out very Strong with aches and pains put to the back of the mind
as we started the "see how many lorries we can get to honk
their air horns at us game" god i love this game - not that
I'm competitive or anything - can you believe that we actually argued
as to who got one of the honks, it was definitely me. We then had
another map malfunction in Kilmarnoch and had to rely on alot of
local knowledge and directions, only problem is they speak a different
language up here so even when they did tell us which way to go we
couldn't bloody understand them. So after a long hard slog into
the wind we finally hit the loch and the sun was just about shining
and it was stunning and the views certainly got us through the last
15 miles. Looking forward to tomorrows ride up to Loch Ness.

My thoughts on today are pretty much the same as Neil apart from
the fact that it was me who won today's game!!
Breakfast today was great and we managed to smuggle out some bacon
rolls for Toby and Hattie. Got off to a flying start and then got
lost in Kilmarnock for some reason there was no signs for the road
we wanted. Neil did ask the local village idiot for directions who
was more interested in touching Neil's kit!!! The scenery on the
last 15miles was amazing and tonight's camp site has some great
views of Loch Lomond.
Dan - you'd love it up here mate.
Thanks again to all those who have been texting us and emailing
some encouragement.
The Giffen boys must be really busy as we haven't had any abuse
from them yet.
Wazza - do you still have that old knee cap of yours on display?
- might need it when i get back.
