The
day could have got off to a better start as I woke up at 3am full
of bloody cold, we then set off at 4.30am on our 7 hour car journey
down to lands end.
We arrived at Lands End at 12.30pm in 25mph cross winds - after
signing the obligatory autographs and posing for the pap's we were
on our way.
13 miles in I had our first puncture quickly repaired, off we went
and then the rain came.......... and it came....... and it came.
And after the rain came we then experienced the Cornwall Climbs
which I have to say were very interesting to say the least after
a while I came to love them - there will always be a part of me
left in those hills. The next challenge thrown at us was the Garmin
failure - no problem we will refer to the map we brought won't we
Paul, Paul you did bring the map didn't you oh bo**ocks. After some
gentle laughter we now we're navigationally challenged with no sat
nav and no map, but after cycling 15 extra miles out of our way
and me being literally blown of the road we made it safely back
to base camp where our luxury caravan awaited and we were greeted
with a hot drink and the delightful smell of our spag bol dinner.
